Apuntes There is / There are.


There is / There are.

• We always use a singular noun with there is. We always put an article after there is.
There is a mouse under your desk.
There’s an octopus in the sea.

• We always put a plural noun with there are.
There are three oranges in the basket.

There is or There’s (Hay... (1))
There is not or There isn’t (No hay... (1))
There are or There´re (Hay... (2 o más))
There are not or There aren’t (No hay... (2 o más))
Is there? (¿Hay...? (1))
Are there? (¿Hay...? (2 o más))
